Elucidation of Enhanced Lithium Conductivity in Nanoporous Ionogel Using Solid State NMR

Nanostructured solid composite electrolyte or nano-SCE, which is composed of an ionic liquid, nanoporous silica, and residuals immobilized precursor components, shows promising synergistic properties. The conductivity nano-SCE in the range 2–5 mS cm−1, exceeds bulk liquid at ambient temperature, while maintaining characteristics a such as having no leakage issues confined, lower flammability compared to conventional electrolytes. In this study, underlying mechanism enhanced investigated by using magic angle spinning NMR relaxometry analysis. Water, one volatile molecules has shown play key role final stability solid-electrolyte interface, it enhances temperature remains mobile. line with previous studies, water lowered mobility found silicon matrix. activation energies lithium ion transfer probed relaxometry, however, do not change function content. increase ions under conditions water-less be origin altered material.
